Shane Warne feels that increasing the weight of cricket balls!

Shane Warne feels that increasing the weight of cricket balls on one side should solve ball-tampering problems. Former Australian cricketer, Shane Warner has commented that “the ICC could make the balls heavier on one side, to do away with fears of saliva and sweat being used on cricket balls at present”. Warner commented that, “this would allow for bowlers to swing to the ball, even on the flattest wicket and that it would make the game more entertaining”. With the ICC, looking to legalize ball-tampering in some aspects, many are currently worried about the use of saliva and sweat on cricket balls, especially given the situation with the Coronavirus outbreak. In light of these events, Australian ball manufacturer Kookaburra has started the development of a wax gel, that would allow for bowlers to retain the shine of the ball for longer periods. Speaking on the matter of changing the conditions of the ball, Warne commented that “it was time that something like this was done, as according to him, cricket balls have not evolved at the same rate as the bats”. He commented that “the bats have become lighter and efficient over time, however, the balls had remained the same and that this needed to change”.
