BCCI Official Exposes
Some of Our Players are Stuck in Mumbai and Bengaluru
As all know that the whole world is currently fighting with coronavirus pandemic. India is on the final day of the third phase of lockdown and according to the current situation, it seems that it will further extend. Due to COVID -19, IPL got suspended this year so Sri Lanka cricket sends an e-mail to BCCI regarding the request to play a bilateral series between both the nations in July.
India was looking to go to the island nation this July for three ODIs and T20Is but due to the current situation, it looks quite impossible. “I would say it is close to impossible at present. Firstly, we need to take one step at a time in the current scenario and you do realize that some of our players are stuck in Mumbai and Bengaluru two zones which are highly affected by the pandemic”.
The official said. “Without even going into the question on whether the Indian team would travel without the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma among others, I would say will international travel be permissible? So, we all need to wait and watch how things unfold.”
