Seven Positive Cases of COVID-19 Detected Among CSA Staff
Cape Town: Cricket South Africa, has revealed that around seven personnel associated with the board, have tested positive for COVID- 19.
These infections were detected after the board conducted a large scale testing of staff members and some affiliated players across the country.
In total it is reported that more than 100 tests were performed in total. Speaking on the matter, Jacques Faul the CEO of CSA commented that “seven positive cases in 100 patients is not a bad indication”.
Faul however did not reveal if any of the contracted players had been tested positive as this was against the medical ethical protocol of the board, which prevents them from sharing details of tested individuals.
The CSA was earlier planning for resuming cricket in the country, starting from the last week of June.
The board had come up with a novel format to kick of things and had even planned for a three-team series named the solidarity cup.
