Rohit Sharma wants to play in both IPL and T20 World Cup
Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma has commented that “if given the opportunity, he would like to participate in both the IPL, as well as the T20 World Cup, later this year”.
Sharma made these comments during an online session with his fans.
The fate of both the IPL, as well as the T20 World Cup, is currently unknown, and it is expected that only one tournament might be held this year.
The ICC T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in October November time frame, is currently on track, however, it is possible that the event may end up being pushed back due to logistical reasons.
The BCCI on the other hand is still working out the possibility of holding the IPL sometime this year, however, scheduling conflicts are preventing them from finalizing any decision.

If the IPL, does not take place till the end of the year, then the BCCI will lose as estimated INR 3,5OO cr in terms of sponsorship money.
Sharma who has led the Mumbai Indians to four World Cup titles is looking forward to playing in both the tournaments. He also stated that team “India might have a hard time against Australia during their first pink-ball Test down under, later this year.
So far India has played in only one day/night Test however Australia has played in seven such games.
