Keshav Maharaj Interested In The Captaincy of The South African Test Side

South African cricketer Keshav Maharaj, has announced his intentions of being interested in the captaincy spot for the South African team in the Test format.

Currently, the captain’s spot for the South African Test team is vacant, it has been vacant since February of this year.

With this announcement, Keshav Maharaj has joined the likes of Bavuma, Markram, and Elgar, all of who are competing for the Test skipper spot. The details regarding Keshav Maharaj’s interest in the captaincy spot was made public, by the South African board, who released an audio file, in which the cricketer can be heard speaking about his ambitions. In the audio file, Keshav Maharaj can be heard expressing his desire to lead the side in all three formats and to lead the team to a World Cup title.

Keshav Maharaj has not captained the South African side at the international level in the past. However, he has plenty of experience leading the team in the domestic as well as club cricket level. Keshav Maharaj was the captain of the Dolphins side during the Momentum one day cup, under his leadership, the team was able to claim the tournament this season.
