Gayle to Miss This Season of CPL – Due to Personal Reasons
Jamaica: West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle, has officially pulled out from participating in this year’s CPL, citing personal reasons.
The fans are likely to miss the big-hitting of Gayle, who has been on the regulars of the tournament over the years.
Gayle withdrew his name from the tournament on the last day of the player draft before the tournament.
The main reason that Gayle wanted to pull out of the tournament, was so that he could spend more time with his family.
Since the COVID-19 lockdown, Gayle has been not able to meet his family as he is in Jamaica, while his family is in St Kitts.
Travel restrictions prevented him from travelling and as a result, he had to spend the entire lockdown away from his family.
This season, Gayle was set to represent the St. Lucia Zouks team, he was signed up as a marquee player for the season, and picked up a USD 130,000 contract.
Chris Gayle has also represented other teams like Jamaica Tallawahs and St Kitts & Nevis
Patriots in the past.
In the past few months, Gayle has been in the news for his online feud with former teammate Ramnaresh Sarwan, who blames for his exit from the Jamaica Tallawahs team.
