Facebook New Messenger Rooms Now Supports 50 Video Callers On Single Call

Facebook has announced Messenger Rooms that will allow group video calls of up to 50 people. Users will be able to send links that will allow non-Facebook users to join Rooms via a web browser on both desktop and mobile. When a room is created, anyone can join via their browser, though hosts can opt to lock rooms to new guests to prevent party crashers. The new feature allows you to create a room from Messenger or Facebook and invite up to 50 people to join your video call with no time limit, even if they don’t have a Facebook account. Facebook Messenger Rooms will be rolling out in certain countries this week before expanding globally, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a live stream on Friday. Alarmed at the popularity of Zoom and Microsoft Teams in social distancing times that allows up to 100 people to join a video meeting from the comfort of their homes, Facebook has decided to take on popular video conferencing app, Zoom by introducing a new feature for its platform called Messenger Rooms that allows users to host video calls of up to 50 people with no time limit. Due to the increased demand for social video calling, Facebook has decided to release the feature for Messenger Rooms, a group video chat feature on Messenger, earlier than scheduled due to the coronavirus lockdown. In Facebook Messenger Rooms, the users can post links in their News Feed or in Groups or event pages.

How to create a Facebook Messenger Room
Once it’s available in your area, here’s how to create a Room from your phone:

1. Open the Facebook Messenger app.

2.  Now tap the People tab option at the bottom right of the screen.

3.  Create a Room by tap, now select the members those you want to join.

4. To share a room with people who don’t have a Facebook account, simply you can share the link with them. You can also share the room in your News Feed, Groups, and Events.

According to Facebook no need to download anything–You can join a room from your mobile phone or computer

Facebook plans to add features will include 14 camera filters and changeable backgrounds. Also adding ways to create Rooms from WhatsApp, Instagram Direct, and Portal as well.
