ECB Asks 55 Players To Start Training in Preparation of Resumption of Cricket in The Country

The English cricket board has asked 55 players, who represent the country in different formats, to start their outdoor training, in preparation for the resumption of cricket in the country. These players include several big names like Eoin Morgan, Jofra Archer, and James Anderson among others. Some notable names that have been left out include Alex Hales, Joe Clarke, and Liam Plunkett.

In an official statement released by the ECB, they commented that “around 55 players had been asked to resume training so that they are ready to play, behind closed doors, in the event that the Government of Britain gives the go-ahead for international encounters”. The ECB also revealed that they will announce the squads for different formats in some time.

Speaking on the matter, Mo Bobat the chief performance director of the ECB commented that “the large pool of players that are available to the selectors at present will give then strong options for squads in all formats”. He commented that “the ECB will need to continue working closely with its medical team and the government to ensure that all safety procedures are followed”.
