CSA Reveals New Dates for the Solidarity Cup
Cape Town: Cricket South Africa, has revealed the dates for, the one-off 3T cricket game, which is set to kick off the return of cricket, to South Africa. The game would be held on the 18th of July and will be a part of the Solidarity Cup.
The tournament was earlier scheduled to be held in late June, however since CSA did not receive the required clearance from the government, the game had to be pushed back.
Last week, the CSA received approval from Nathi Mthethwa, who is the Minister of Sport, Arts & Culture, for South Africa.
He had granted the approval for players, to return to practice last week. The game will allow players to get some practice time, under their belt, before the start of international cricket.
According to CSA, all funds raised through the tournament will be donated to different charities. The game will in an empty stadium, and the only way to watch the game for spectators would be through streaming.
In total, three teams will participate in the tournament.Ab de Villers, Kagiso Rabada, and Quinton de Kock are the captains of the three teams. Each team will consist of 8 players, and they will have 12 overs in an innings, the batting team would face both the other teams during their innings.
