Another former Bangladeshi cricketer Nafees Iqbal, who is the elder brother of Tamim Iqbal the current limited-overs skipper for the team, was also tested positive for the virus.

Nafees too has reportedly entered himself into self- isolation at his home in Chittagong.

In the case of Mortaza, it was earlier reported that some of his family members had tested positive for the virus, this may be the reason behind his own infection.

Speaking on the matter, Morsalin bin Mortaza his brother commented that “Mortaza had been feeling unwell for the past couple of days and that this forced them to test him for COVID-19, unfortunately the tests returned positive”.
