Surrey Management Praises Fans Not Refunding Tickets For West Indies Test
The management of Surrey cricket board, that is responsible for conducting games at Kia Oval has revealed that more than 85% of spectators, who bought tickets for England’s opening Test encounter against West Indies have decided to roll over their tickets for a game set to be held next year, rather than claiming refunds for the tickets. This move from the fans would allow the management to maintain financial stability.
West Indies who are currently set to tour England starting from the fist Week of July, were expected to play their first match at the Kia Oval, however since the COVID-19 pandemic is still posing a threat, all games of this tour will be played behind closed doors. This meant that spectators who had purchased tickets for these games would not be able to watch these games from the stadium.
According to reports fans were given two options regarding the matter, either they could refund their ticket, or have it roll over for another game in the future. Most of the ticket holders decided to choose the second option. These spectators will have the opportunity to watch India take on England next year in the same venue using the same tickets.
