Shakib Al Hasan Looking To Start From Scratch After Returning From Ban Period
Banned Bangladeshi all-rounder, Shakib al Hasan has commented that “he would need to start from scratch, once he returns to international cricket following his one year ban”.
Shakib was banned earlier last year after failing to report an approach from a bookie, Shakib al Hasan commented that “he had picked up the ban because of his ignorance and that he should have been more careful with the matter”.
Shakib al Hasan, who is currently in the USA, stated that “the break from cricket provided him with the opportunity to witness the birth of his second child”. Shakib commented that “he was not able to be there for his first child’s birth as he was busy playing for the team”.
Several players within the Bangladesh Cricket team had criticized the BCB over their lack of involvement in the matters related to the ban picked up by Shakib al Hasan.
Speaking in defense of the BCB, Shakib commented that “the ICC anti-corruption unit was an independent body, and that there was nothing that could have been done by the BCB to help him”.
Shakib al Hasan also revealed that “he decided to bat at the number three spot for Bangladesh during the World Cup, after being inspired by former South African cricketer Ab de Villiers”.
