Natalie Dodd, Jess Kerr Named in List of Centrally Contracted Players for 2020-21

New Zealand cricketers Natalie Dodd and Jess Kerr have received central contracts for the New Zealand Women’s cricket team. This is the first time that either of these players has been centrally contracted.

Dodd has been playing for New Zealand ever since 2010 and Kerr has been part of the New Zealand Women’s international team that took on South Africa, during the 2019-2020 season. Both of these players had been previously under developmental contracts, for the 2019-2020 season.

Kerr was also part of the emerging player’s program during the 2018-2019 season. Players who lost out on contracts this time around include Bernadine Bezuidenhout and Rachel Priest. The reason for them being removed from the list of players was not specified.

Speaking on the matter, Bob Carter the coach for New Zealand’s women’s team commented that “both Dodd and Kerr, deserved this promotion and that they were able to make it into the list of contracted players, due to their hard work and perseverance”.

He stated that “the management was looking towards developing the game of both these players for the international level”.

Players offered central contracts for 2020-21: Suzie Bates, Sophie Devine, Natalie Dodd, Lauren Down, Maddy Green, Holly Huddleston, Hayley Jensen, Leigh Kasperek, Amelia Kerr, Jess Kerr, Rosemary Mair, Katey Martin, Katie Perkins, Anna Peterson, Hannah Rowe, Amy Satterthwaite, Lea Tahuhu.
