Mitchell Starc Feels Ban on Saliva Will Disturb The Balance of The Sport

Australian cricketer Mitchell Starc has commented that “the decision by the ICC, to ban the use of saliva on the cricket ball, will disturb the balance between batting and bowling that is currently present in cricket”. He feels that “if the ICC decides to move forward with the decision then cricket will become a boring sport and that bowling will become a lot difficult”.

Mitchell Starc feels that “youngsters will choose batting over bowling because of this reason and that the overall quality of bowlers, will go down as a result”. Mitchell Starc feels that the “ICC should implement some sort of replacement for saliva, which will ensure that the bowlers can move the ball around”. He commented that “doing so will allow the ICC to maintain the balance of the game”. Starc also commented about the team’s upcoming day-night Test encounter with India, which is set to take place when India tours Australia for a four-match Test series later this year.

Mitchell Starc commented that “the Australian team had a good record in pink-ball cricket at home and that the India team is coming into the series after having played their first day-night Test”. Compared to the Australian team, who have played seven day-night Tests the Indian team has played only one day-night Test.
