Sydney: Australian cricketer Marnus Labuschagne had officially extended his contract with county cricket club Glamorgan for an additional two seasons till 2022.
Marnus who was supposed to be a part of the team this year as well, however due to the
COVID-19 pandemic, he has not been able to participate in any of the team’s games this season.
Labuschagne had a terrific outing with Glamorgan in 2019, when he joined the team, in total he scored 1,114 runs that season, which included five centuries and five half-centuries.
He found a spot in the Australian Ashes squad on the back of his performances in county cricket, which eventually led to him becoming one of the mainstays in the Australian Test side.
Speaking on the matter, Marnus commented that “it was an easy decision for him to extend his contract with Glamorgan, and that he was disappointed that he was not able to play for the side during the 2020 season”.
Mark Wallace, the Director of cricket for Glamorgan also praised Manrus’s character commenting that he accepted the team’s offer without hesitation.
