Jos Buttler Feels IPL has Helped Out English Cricket
English cricketer Jos Buttler has commented that, the “IPL has helped English cricket tremendously over the years, and that he was desperate to participate in this year’s IPL”. Buttler who plays for the Rajasthan Royals franchise in the IPL, along with few other English cricketers were set to make their return to the IPL, this year, however, because of the COVID-19 outbreak, the tournament has been pushed back.
Speaking on the matter,Jos Buttler commented that “according to him, the IPL was the second most important cricket tournament in the world, after the ICC World Cup”. He commented that “the league is like fantasy cricket where players from different nations come together and play”. He feels that without the IPL, this would not have been possible.
Jos Buttler also credited former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen, for paving the way for English cricketers to participate in the IPL. He commented that “Pietersen had advocated for the creation of some room, within the domestic season in England, so that players can participate in the IPL”. He feels that the actions of Pietersen, have helped English cricketers significantly.
