Jofra Archer cleared to Attend Training Camp After Testing Negative for COVID-19
English cricketer Jofra Archer has received clearance to attend the training camp along with his teammates in preparation for the team’s upcoming three-match Test series against the West Indies, after testing negative for COVID-19.
All the English players who are set to participate in the tournament were tested multiple times to ensure that no-one was infected.
Archer too underwent the same procedures, however, he had to undergo the test again, after a member of his household, came down with an illness.
The ECB had advised him to undergo a second Test, as a precautionary measure.
The English team is currently training at Ageas Bowl. Their three-match Test series against West Indies is set to being from the first week of July.
Earlier this month, the ECB had conducted a total of more than 700 Tests for COVID-19, these tests involved players, support staff, members of the administrative division, as well as hotel staff, who are charged with looking after the players.
The ECB had reported that all Tests had returned negative, and as a result, the series can go ahead, as planned.
