The ICC is set to hold a meeting with its member nations to discuss matters pertaining to the Coronavirus outbreak, and further steps are to be taken before cricket returns to normal. The meeting is set to take place on 28th May and is expected to be attended by all major cricketing nations including India.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is expected to attend the meeting. Another major agenda for the meeting could be naming the replacement for the current ICC chairman, Shashank Manohar. If such an issue is planned to be discussed in the meeting, then all the major cricket playing boards need to be present.
However this discussion could be held at a later date, and the ICC itself has not confirmed anything regarding the matter.
Speaking on the matter, of the meeting, Ganguly commented that “since the BCCI was one of the larger boards in the ICC, it was their responsibility to lead the way to get cricket back on track, after a viral pandemic has subsided”.
He commented that “a major focus for many boards would be the revenue generation, and this may force some boards to prioritize a particular format over another”.
