Bumrah and Dhawan Listed for the BCCI Arjuna Award
Jasprit Bumrah is emerging as the Harbinger in the nomination of the prestigious Arjuna Award from BCCI. Last year he missed the chance to grab it. BCCI officer bearers confirm that Burmah emerged as the competent candidate on the list. If BCCI has to send multiple names then Shikhar Dhawan will be also in the list.
Criteria of the nomination are required on the performance of the last three years at the highest level. “Last year, we had sent three names in men’s section — Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Shami. That’s why Bumrah, who completed three years of international cricket last year, missed out to Jadeja, who is senior as well as a consistent performer for many years,” BCCI said. “In 2018, we had sent Dhawan’s name for the nomination but only Smriti (Mandhana) got the award. So BCCI can send both Bumrah and Dhawan’s names.” that’s why Bumrah and Dhawan Listed for the BCCI Arjuna Award.
