Alibaba’s New Chief Technology Officer
Alibaba’s arm Ant Group has appointed Ni Xingjun as its new chief technology officer, the company said in a statement.
Ni Xingjun is one of the company’s earliest architects, and his predecessor, Hu Xi, will move to a new appointment, the firm added, without mentioning further details.
Earlier, Founder of Alibaba, Jack Ma, had donated essential supplies to 10 countries in South and South East Asia.
Announcing in his tweet, Jack ma said, “Go Asia! We will donate emergency supplies (1.8 million masks, 210,000 test kits, 36,000 protective suits, plus ventilators and thermometers) to Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Delivering fast is not easy, but we’ll get it done!”
India is the only South Asian country not in this list. He had also announced to donate 500,000 coronavirus testing kits and 1 million masks to the United States.
According to reports, Jack Ma also urged international cooperation to fight the health crisis. Jack Ma’s initiative had recently donated relief materials to areas in Japan, Korea, Italy, Iran and Spain.
