Impact of COVID-19 on Muslim Community on Eid-ul-Fitr Festival 2020

Eid al-Fitr

Eid al-Fitr comes when Muslims Holy month Ramadan is going to end, at the end of Ramadan month every year the Eid al-Fitr is celebrated. Eid is celebrated is depending on the sighting of the new moon at the end of Ramadan. Once the new moon date is confirmed then the Eid al-Fitr occasion can begin.

This year 2020 the Eid al Fitr is expected to be held on 23 or 24 May 2020 depending on the sighting of the new moon. This will be confirmed on the last day of Ramadan month. Can COVID-19 affect the Muslims Eid al-Fitr?

Corona Affecting Eid al-Fitr

Due to the spread of the COVID-19 disease across the world and strict curfews and lockdown conditions along with the social distancing between peoples the coming Eid al Fitr 2020 maybe not celebrated as it was celebrated for many years. As all Muslim countries celebrate this occasion with happiness and meetups with friends and relatives, they do a lot of things like cooking together, going for picnics, enjoying playing games, and much much more. But Unfortunately this year the whole world Muslim and non-muslim countries is facing a very serious problem which is CoronaVirus and due to this social distancing is very important and all-important days and occasion are limited like in Mosques there is only limited peoples are allowed and remaining of them have to pray at their own homes.

Many peoples are asking will CoronaVirus will affect the Eid al-Fitr 2020 or not? COVID-19 has effected every country and peoples are now limited to their homes only, they can’t go out, can’t have a picnic outside, meeting friends and relatives are very much limited. In Ramadan Muslims do a lot of prayers, do charity to poor peoples and help the needy ones but this year all of these things are limited and peoples can’t go outside due to social distancing.

Eid al Fitr is a most important day among the Muslims, they do many things every year and enjoy in their own ways but this year 2020 Muslims have to stay at their homes, there is a ban on the gathering of peoples, limited peoples are allowed in mosques and reaming peoples will offer their Eid al-Fitr prayers at home. The peoples cant go to friends and family homes, still, now the local transport is closed and the persons are working in other cities or countries using local transport can not go to their homes on Eid al-Fitr. This year Muslims are facing many problems and their occasions are also limited like Ramadan and Eid’s.

Its big challenge now how to stop the spread of Coronavirus in Muslim Communities, are they follow the instruction of social distance or will break out all of the safety rules to save from Coronavirus.
