The West Indies cricket board has given its approval for the team’s upcoming three-match Test series against England. England had submitted a bio-secure plan to host the tournament to the West Indies cricket board earlier this month. However, the final say on the fate of the tour rests with the government of England, whose approval is required to go ahead with the tournament.
In an official statement released by CWI, they state that “the CWI came to a decision to agree to the three-match Test series, after much deliberation and discussion with health representatives and government officials from both sides”. If this tour goes ahead, it would be the first bilateral international encounter to take place since the COVID-19 lockdown came into effect.
