Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid has commented that “plans for conducting cricket in Bio-secure venues seem a bit unrealistic according to him and that such solutions won’t work in the long run”. Many cricketing boards across the world including the boards of England and Pakistan are gearing up for the resumption of cricket with new protocols in place.
Speaking on the matter, Rahul commented that “he understood the urgency of boards like the ECB to restart cricket, as they have not played any form of cricket for a long time”. However he felt that “not everyone will be able to replicate and maintain the safety procedures and that the logistics that will be required for such a feat will be too unrealistic”.
Dravid also commented that “the lack of spectators in front of stadiums should not affect players”, Dravid feels that “players will find a way to deal with the lack of spectators and that this will not affect their game”. He also felt that “the players might take some time, before finding their groove, after coming from such a long break, without any training”.
