PCB to Take Disciplinary Action Against Hafeez Following Second COVID-19 Test
Lahore: PCB cricketer has Mohammad Hafeez has tested positive again, in the second round of COVID-19 testing conducted by the PCB, after he had claimed that he had was negative for the virus and that he had conducted a COVID-19 test on his own, at a private facility, that declared him negative.
Hafeez’s action is reported to have angered PCB officials. They feel that Hafeez should have immediately gone into self-isolation following his first test, instead, he integrated with other people for a second Test, thus putting others in danger as well.
In the aftermath of his comments, the PCB decided to test all 10 positive players again, at the same facility where they conducted the first Test. After the Test conducted a second time around and Hafeez returned positive again, he and the rest of the players were removed from the squad that was set to tour
England.
These players will be replaced by substitutes, who will also undergo several rounds of COVID-19 testing. Hafeez is likely to face disciplinary action for disobeying the directives of the board.
