Dr. Sohail Saleem, the director of medical and sports sciences for the PCB, has commented that “the team’s upcoming tour of England, during this time of Pandemic, was a risky affair, and that the PCB only agreed to the tour thinking of the people of Pakistan”.
The Pakistan team is set to depart for England this coming Sunday, the series will consist of three TEST and T20 games.
Speaking on the matter, Saleem commented that “he had regained some faith that sports events could be conducted after watching different football leagues in Europe start-up following the COVID-19 pandemic”.
Dr. Sohail Saleem feels that “like football, Cricket could also be played behind closed doors”. He feels that “resumption of cricket is important for Pakistan, as the people are looking forward to seeing the team play”.

Most of the Pakistan players last played cricket in March, while participating in the Pakistan Super League.
However, the tournament was cut short because of the COVID-19 situation.
Speaking on the matter, Dr. Sohail Saleem commented that “since the players have been on such a long break, they would need at least five to six weeks to prepare, before they can play again”.
