Pakistan Name Reworked 20 Man Squad for England Tour

Pakistan has named a reworked 20 man squad for the team’s upcoming tour of England.

Earlier the PCB had announced a 29 man squad for the series, however, following the COVID-19 testing for the players, 10 players had returned positive for COVID-19, as a result, the board was forced to drop these players from the squad and name replacements in their side.

The two new names in the 20 man squad currently are, Rohail Nazir, who is a wicket-keeper and Musa Khan, who is a fast bowler.

The current squad has been named with a focus on red-ball cricket, as the team will be at first involved in a Test match series against England.

According to head coach Misbah ul Haq, the current squad contains all the first-choice players for the team, in Test cricket. The board is likely to name the rest of the replacements for the squad in the coming days, they were unable to name a full squad as several players including Mohammad Hafeez had claimed that they had tested negative during private testing.

As a result, the board was forced to conduct a second test to confirm the claims of these players. Since these players were tested positive during the second Test as well, they will now be replaced by substitutes.
