Cricket Australia has officially announced the dates and venues for India’s upcoming tour of Australia. The tour which is set to take place in the months of December and January is financially significant for Cricket Australia. The fate of the tour could change however if the COVID-19 pandemic is not brought under control by the time of the tour.
The venues that have been selected by Cricket Australia for hosting the Test series include Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney. The first Test is set to be held in Brisbane, starting from the third of December, the second Test would be held in Adelaide from December 11, the third Test would be the boxing day Test and would be held at Melbourne.
The final Test would be held in Sydney, starting from the third of January. The second Test that is set to be held in Adelaide is expected to be a day-night encounter. It is also expected that by the time of the tour, the need for bio-secure venues would not exist as the COVID-19 situation in Australia would have been brought under control.
