All English Players Set to Participate in Series Against West Indies

London: The ECB has revealed that all players who are set to participate in the upcoming series against the West Indies, have tested negative for COVID-19.

Since the start of this month, the ECB has conducted over 700 COVID-19 detection tests, for players, support staff, match officials, and hotel personnel, to ensure that the game is not affected by the virus.

However, cricketer Jofra Archer is set to undergo a second round of testing, as a member of his household fell sick this weekend, and as a precautionary measure, the ECB wanted to test Archer again, before he was allowed to join the team, for their training camp.

The remainder of the team is set to being their preparations for the series at the Ages Bowl, in
Southampton.

If this series goes ahead as planned, then it would be the first international series since March, after the sport was brought to a halt, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

During the series, both England and West Indies will stay at bio-secure venues to prevent the players and support staff from contracting the disease.

If this tour ends up being successful, other cricket boards could follow in their footsteps by implementing the same measures for player safety.
